No. Once a message is sealed, it is paid for. There is no yearly fee and no storage fee. If you stop your plan, every message you have sealed still arrives on its day.
Only you and the person you wrote it for can read the message you've sent. For a child, the guardian you name keeps the messages safe until the day.
Each message is locked with its own key the moment you seal it. Nobody at inAmber reads it. We would only ever open one if you ask us to recover it, the person it's for asks, or the law requires it, and each time is recorded for good.
We follow UK data protection law (UK GDPR). That means we only keep what we need, we protect it with strong security, we never sell it, and you can see, download or delete it at any time.

Part of every payment is set aside to store and deliver your messages. It is kept apart from the money we run the company on. How we keep your messages safe.
And you can download everything you've written, recorded or filmed at any time, so you always have your own copy.
A plan gives you messages every month. Each month you get 1, 2, 4 or 5 messages to write, record or film for anyone you love. Each one is delivered on the day you choose. You can schedule it up to 25 years ahead. Unused messages carry over while your plan is live. On a yearly plan, all your messages are ready on day one.
Pick who it is for and we suggest ideas that fit, like their 18th birthday or Christmas. Amber asks a gentle question to help you start. Or write your own. Each message you seal uses one from your plan, however many people it is for.
You can still write the moments that have passed. Tell them about their first day at school. Or the day you taught them to ride a bike. Write it as you remember it, and how it felt. Then carry on from where they are today.
You can stop any time. Everything you've sealed still arrives. Any unused messages are yours for 12 months: record, seal and send them whenever you like. Your drafts are kept for 30 days after that. Download everything, free, any time.
No. Once a message is sealed, it will arrive exactly as you left it. But you can delete it before its day and record it again. When you delete a sealed message, it goes back to your plan, ready to use. Once a message has been delivered, it can't be changed or given back.
A child under 18 never gets a message straight from us. When you write for a child, you name their parent or guardian. On the day, the message goes to that adult first. They can read it and decide if it's right for the child. They choose when to hand it over, straight away or when the time feels right. They can't change your words or delete them. The message belongs to the child. If it hasn't been handed over by their 18th birthday, it goes to them then. If we don't know a child's age, we treat them as under 18.
On the day you choose, we email the person you wrote for. The email has a link to your message. They set up a free account to open it. There is nothing for them to buy. Your message then stays in their account, to open again any time.
A message for a set day stays hidden until that day. They won't know it's coming. On the day, we surprise them with an email to say a message from you has arrived.
If you chose to let them open it when they're ready, it goes to them as soon as you seal it. They open it whenever they choose.
Yes. You can do everything on your phone. Go to inamber.ai and sign in. Write, record your voice or film yourself, all from your phone. Then seal it and get on with your day. There is no app to download.
