1. What cookies are
Small files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things like whether you are signed in. inAmber uses them only where it needs to.
2. The ones we set
Three, and all three are necessary for inAmber to work at all.
Signing in
Keeps you signed in. It expires when you sign out or when your session ends. Without it you could not reach your vault.
Security
Protects your account against a common form of attack where another site tries to act as you. It holds no personal data.
Beta access
While inAmber is in beta, this remembers that you have entered a valid invite code, so you are not asked for it again on every visit.
3. Advertising and tracking
We do not currently set any advertising, tracking or behavioural analytics cookies, and nothing about you is shared with an advertising network.
If we ever do introduce them, we will ask you first and you will be able to say no. Nothing of that kind will be set before you have agreed to it.
Two places that will never be tracked
Even if you agree to analytics, we do not run them on the pages where you read a message somebody left for you, or on the pages where somebody is asked to confirm that a person has died.
Agreeing to analytics on a marketing page is not agreement to have a bereavement recorded, and we do not treat it as though it were.
4. Turning them off
Because the cookies we set are the necessary ones, blocking them will stop inAmber working properly, and you will not be able to sign in. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings.
5. Changes
If we ever add a new kind of cookie we will update this page and tell you, and we will ask for your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary.
